Pacific Press® welcomes European publishing house managers

Nampa, Idaho (July 16, 2003) This week has been a busy time of meetings with the managers of the publishing houses from Spain and Portugal.

Enoque Pinto, manager of the Portuguese Publishing House, and his son and daughter arrived in Boise Sunday night. We met Monday to discuss how our publishing houses could cooperate in the future on projects. The meeting was very productive and positive for both houses.

On Monday afternoon, Jonathan Valls, manager of the publishing house in Spain, arrived with his wife and son along with Jorge Pamplona who is in charge of creative development of products at the publishing house. Pamplona is a medical doctor who has written many of the publishing house’s books on health and medical topics.

On Tuesday morning, a meeting of the three publishing houses took place at which time we discussed working together on a new set of books originated out of the publishing house in Portugal. After that meeting, Pacific Press representatives met with the representatives from Spain to discuss other projects that we can cooperate on in the future. Again, the meetings were very cordial and a positive direction for future cooperation was established. Follow up work will be done next to move the projects to reality. We will update you further once we have had opportunity to come to further agreements on these book projects.
