Nampa, Idaho (July 29, 2002) – The Pacific Press Board announced July 22, 2002, the selection of Martin Ytreberg as vice president of finance (CFO) to replace Ross Lauterbach, who along with his wife was killed in an auto accident.

Mr. Ytreberg first came to Pacific Press in Mountain View California in 1983. Prior to that he held many positions for the SDA church in several divisions throughout the world. He served Pacific Press from 1983 to 1990 as vice president of finance (CFO). He carried a major responsibility relocating the Press from Mountain View to Nampa, Idaho in 1984. During those years the Press had many financial challenges and Mr. Ytreberg was instrumental in turning the financial situation around.

In 1990 at the General Conference Session, Ytreberg was called to become associate treasurer of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. He later took on responsibilities as under-treasurer for the world church. He is currently serving as vice president (CFO) for Adventist Risk Management Services.

Martin and Sylvia Ytreberg have two children, Dr. Marty Ytreburg, who is a professor at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, and Michelle Ytreberg who is an accountant in Seattle, Washington. The Ytrebergs originally came from British Columbia, Canada.

Bob Kyte, president of Pacific Press, comments, “We continue to miss our colleague Ross Lauterbach who was killed in a tragic auto accident. We are fortunate to have Martin and Sylvia Ytreberg willing to return to Idaho where Martin will provide Pacific Press the financial skills and expertise to significantly contribute to the mission of Pacific Press.”

Mr. Ytreberg will assume his duties in November 2002.
